Have you heard of Cara Cummings?
This talented woman is a wife, mum, and business owner, but her greatest passion is being out on the water with her family. This is what has led her to her involvement in the fishing industry.
I first met Cara when she was cooking up a seafood storm for the ‘Cooking with Cara’ segment on Talking Fishing, a live, weekly TV show in Melbourne. For the show, Cara was proudly dressed by Northern Tide Apparel.
Tying in her love of fishing and cooking, Cara is a ‘pro team’ angler and ambassador for Black Magic Tackle which is a brand she is humbled to be part of. She has a bi-monthly fishing and cooking blog featuring mouth-watering catch and cook recipes which can be found on their website. (link HERE)

Cara is a Leader and Mentor with the WIRFAB network (Women In Recreational Fishing and Boating), an initiative of the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) to encourage more women to get involved and discover what fishing and boating can offer. She has been part of this network for 5 years and has seen great progression in female participation and a positive shift in attitude. With much still to be done, it is a rewarding role to hold.
Keen to encourage the younger generations, Cara also writes for the Freshwater Fishing AFN magazine, with a regular ‘Fishing with Kids’ article. She holds positions on various fishing boards with the aim of improving fishing for everyone, for a long time to come.
